Feature Story
Tu B’Shvat: Soups, Succulents & Sourdough!

The weather outside was frigid - but inside, 50+ Jewish students were treated to warm smiles, hot soup and fresh sourdough bread, as we celebrated the holiday of Tu B’Shvat with a Succulent Terrarium making event. We were also treated to a special Tu B’Shvat Seder by our Israel Fellow, and a Sourdough making tutorial by Shlomit. Every student got to take home some sourdough starter of their own!

“Dairy” Shabbat
Friday Jan 16th we hosted a unique “Dairy” Shabbat, featuring a full dairy menu. Generously sponsored by the Sakhai Family in honor of the birthday of their daughter Jessie!
“Taco” Shabbat
Friday Jan 22nd we hosted “Taco” Shabbat - an unlikely combo, but the food was loved by all!
“Board-Game” Shabbat
Friday Jan 30th we hosted “Board-Game” Shabbat - where students stayed late into the night to boardgames after dinner!

MAYA SILVERMAN
BARSC Product Design and Entrepreneurship - Class of ‘28

“Being from out of state, I love Chabad because it always feels like my home away from home. Being so far away from my family is hard, however I’m very fortunate to have found a second family at Chabad. From weekly shabbat dinners to challah bakes, and everything in between, I'm so happy to have found a place that I can truly be myself. ”
